The Detrop-Oenos exhibition 'duo', organized from 26 February to 1 March by TIF-HELEXPO, at Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, broke every previous record: it attracted 25,850 visitors, marking a 23% increase compared to the previous event.
There were crowds of visitors, particularly on the weekend, reflecting high interest for both these vital sectors of the national economy, as well as the sound organization of the exhibition events covering a wide range of products from the whole of Greece.
There was also an intense international atmosphere with the number of trade visitors increasing by 40%. Not only were there 250 hosted professionals from over 30 countries, but also independent visitors enriching this international presence. A total of more than 3,000 appointments were held between international and Greek companies.
Albania, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Britain, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, and other countries were dynamically present.
It should be noted that this year’s 24th International Detrop Food-Beverage-Machinery & Equipment Exhibition and the 5th Oenos International Wine Exhibition hosted more than 500 exhibitors deployed in seven pavilions.
Satellite events accompanying both exhibition events were really popular with massive attendance; they included spectacular actions, such as the 9th International Culinary Competition Southern Europe 2015 and the 15th Thessaloniki International Wine Competition.
Major interest was also expressed for the Pan-Hellenic Conference on meat and meat products titled ‘From Stable to Table’ as well as for the day meeting titled ‘Religious certifications and exports of foodstuffs and food ingredients’.
